Fundamental Course Unit 8 - Workplace Habits
Workplace Habits This Experience focuses on workplace habits — patterns and routines that are practiced with the intention of helping someone be a better employee. When you develop and maintain productive habits in the workplace|you build a foundation for success. Three Essential Elements support Workplace Habits|all of which are associated with the “Technical Skills Grounded in Academics†component of the SkillsUSA Framework. Computer and Technology Literacy: Knowing and understanding the technology used in a workplace helps you thrive as an employee and allows you to think of new uses for technology at work. Job-Specific Skills: Every job has specific skills that are required to be successful. Learning those skills and feeling competent in your knowledge and abilities leads to increased confidence in performing job duties. Safety and Health: The personal wellness habits you practice outside of the workplace affect how you perform as an employee and can reinforce (positively or negatively) the wellness habits you practice in the workplace. *After completing the unit pre-test|if you need to independently complete the kick-off activity before the unit Overview|please access a self-pacing video in the Resources tab of this unit.
