Career Planning This Experience explores Career Planning — the process of researching and planning for how to best prepare for a career that aligns with your goals. Three Essential Elements support Career Planning|all of which are associated with the “Technical Skills Grounded in Academics†component of the SkillsUSA Framework. Job-Specific Skills: An important part of career planning is being able to identify the specific skills and knowledge needed for a particular job. Professional Development: Once you have identified the necessary skills for a job|you must build and maintain them through professional development|a key part of career planning. Professional development can consist of long-term activities|such as completing a certification program|or short-term activities|such as attending a presentation.
